Georgia Ethics Website

Case Background

The Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (GGTCFC) is an entity staffed by the Governor, Senate Committee on Assignments, and Speaker of the House of Representatives to enforce the Campaign Finance Act. GGTCFC owned the Georgia Ethics Website (www.ethics.ga.gov) that needed some updates:

  • The site had several outdated pages/posts and broken links that made migration a challenge
  • The site was built on an older version of WordPress and needed to be migrated to the latest version of WordPress

Implementation Overview

Scope IT recreated and migrated the content to the latest WordPress version 6.0.  All the links and content were updated to the latest look and feel.  The website was created with responsive design.  Scope IT met with GGTCFC staff to gather requirements for the new website, created user stories and wireframes, and incorporated this feedback as part of the website design.

“Search” functionality was added to perform universal search on the entire website. WordPress plugins were used for more robust and thorough capabilities to search the content such as text and documents that are listed and regularly updated on the website. SCOPE IT integrated to all the required social media sites and channels to deliver the ‘live’ videos and feed on the website.

Results

Scope IT successfully migrated the website to the latest version of WordPress, built the content according to Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) standards, and rolled out the new design within a month.  The site had 139 pages and 438 posts.
